Donald Trump may have started advertising, but you’re still a lot more likely to see a Hillary Clinton ad. A lot more likely:
To date, the Clinton campaign has spent $68 million on ads in the general election, while the Trump camp has now spent $4 million after airing its first ad was released late last week.
Pro-Clinton outside groups are also spending significantly more than pro-Trump outside groups—in part because so few Republican groups are interested in supporting Trump.
Trump’s low ad spending suggests that advertising is one aspect of campaigning he hasn’t yet figured out how to pay himself for.
