Outstanding. Just outstanding.
Fox News anchor Bret Baier admitted on Thursday that he had been wrong when he reported that Hillary Clinton would “likely” be indicted by federal authorities, a claim that sent conservative websites into a frenzy.
He'd like to back off on that now. But only a little. Just to make clear that there's details to be worked out between the something something Clinton Foundation part and the SWAT team swooping in part.
“That’s not the process. That’s not how you do it. You have to have a prosecutor. If they don’t move forward with a prosecutor with the DOJ, there would be, I’m told, a very public call for an independent prosecutor to move forward.”
Yeah, that's how this stuff works. First you make the sensationalized anonymous claims, then when the Department of Justice declines to bring out the handcuffs because your anonymous claims are crap you demand an independent prosecutor who will do it instead, and the independent prosecutor leaks like a sieve and produces an unending stream of half-assed faux conspiracies to also be looked in on and everybody gets a year or two or three of easy news headlines for their Fox News programs.
I mean, duh. How can we relive the 1990s in all their repulsive totality if news anchors don't stick to their scripts?
