It turns out nobody on Trump's transition staff knows how presidential transitions work. Upon getting the White House tour last week they were alarmed to find out that yikes—they have to replace all those people themselves.
During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.
After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.
So Barack Obama will be spending "more time" with Trump's team in an effort to teach them the most basic aspects of running the nation. We should probably be grateful at the implication that Trump is willing to be taught such things by the "stupid" people in Washington, whose roles he insisted he could easily fill with his enormous gargantuan brain. But here's also a decent chance that Trump will see this report of his apparent incompetence and refuse to let Obama tutor him any further.
Because he's just that dumb. You know it, I know it, Obama knows it, and all the members of the press who have been covering him for the last year-and-a-half know it, too.
