Speaker Paul Ryan is acting awfully flip for a guy who botched the vote on the single most-important piece of legislation for the Republican base. A bill he rushed for a chief executive who is historically unpopular AND under investigation for his ties to Russia. Ryan would have you believe he doesn't have a care in the world when it comes to his and his party's political future.
Asked whether Ryan agreed with predictions that Democrats were poised to sweep Republicans out of power in 2018 he dismissed the notion as "white noise."
"Blah blah blah blah blah, is what I say about that stuff," he said.
Well, let's just see about that. It would do well for Ryan to remember that Daily Kos alone raised over $1 million, as David Nir says, and "we didn’t even have the benefit of raising money for actual candidates—just challengers-to-be-named-later, via ActBlue’s nominee funds." You should be just a little bit more concerned, Mr. Ryan.
So let's give Ryan a few more things to worry about. Just in case there is revote on Trumpcare, we're calling the House again, 202-224-3121. And we're not going to stop raising money against the members Ryan put in jeopardy with the first Zombie Trumpcare vote. We'll break our own fundraising records if they do it again.
Keep them scared, and make Ryan eat his words. Please give $1 to each of our funds targeting the most vulnerable House Republicans.
