Nancy Pelosi has her priorities in order. “It is the least important question you could ask,” she told an NPR reporter of the constant media hype over whether Democratic defectors could keep her from becoming speaker of the House again. “The most important thing,” she said, is “what does this election mean for the American people?”
What it means, if Democrats retake the House:
"You will see us use every arrow in our quiver to find the truth about what's happening in public policy, what they're doing to the environment," Pelosi stressed. "We see this as a culture of corruption, cronyism and incompetence."
Finding the truth, undoing a culture of corruption. Republicans have every reason to throw everything in their arsenal—billionaire dark money, voter suppression, lies—at holding onto Congress. Because the alternative is exposure.
