Hillary Clinton rocked the political landscape by suggesting this as a possible way for Government to help babies pay for college (when the time comes) or in buying their first home.
Why implement such a radical strategy, when neither Mrs. Clinton nor Congress have ever done the lesser things in helping people pay for college or their first home? The lesser things being ... to make it less difficult for people to do these things by ... taxing them less.
Instead of forcing taxpayers of America to give $5,000 to every baby, why not give every American who pays for a collegiate education a full, complete, total deduction of their entire tuition from their taxable income (regardless if they itemize or not) ... every year?
Instead of handing out money to citizens ... why not take less from them when they do things that Hillary would like them to do?
Do we want a President who will hand out freebies, or do we want a President who will keep your backpocket free (well, not free but less invaded maybe??) from the hand of Goverment?
Left and Right agree that going to college and having your own home are good things. But here we see the Left defined; it wants to hand out the taxpayers money instead of taking less of it and trusting the citizens to make the right decisions.
