The police in San Bernardino, California are holding another press conference about Wednesday’s mass shooting.
Police confirm 14 dead and 17 wounded. Status of wounded not known at this time. Two suspects were killed in a police shootout: Syed Rizwan Farook (male), age 28 and apparently “U.S. born,” and Tashfeen Malik (female), 27.
Police don’t have a definitive answer on the relationship between Farook and Malik. They may have been married or engaged.
Police say they believe now that they are “pretty comfortable” with the idea that there were only two shooters (who are both deceased), and not three (or more) as had previously been reported. They say they don’t have a motive at this point.
Police also say that bombs were discovered at the site of shooting and have been disposed of by the bomb squad.
Police believe there “had to have been some degree of planning” based on how the attackers were equipped.
Police reiterating that they won’t speculate on motive, including whether or not there was a connection to ISIS.
One police officer was wounded in the response.
The press conference is over. Police are not sure if they’ll conduct another one tonight but say they expect to speak with the media again early Thursday morning.
