Welp. This happened. That’s Donald Trump on Facebook Live with Bill Clinton accusers Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, and Kathleen Willey and Hillary Clinton accuser Kathy Shelton, in an event Trump characterized as “conclud[ing] my debate prep.”
The message: We hate the Clintons and love Donald Trump. That’s about it—it was less of a long, detailed event and more of a threatening photo op.
In other words, Trump is full steam ahead with the plan of attacking the Clintons to distract from tape of him bragging about habitual sexual assault—or, if he can’t distract from his own vile words, at least exacting maximum pain. It’s a strategy doomed to backlash, since these issues have been fully aired for years and in most cases decades and tend to just make Hillary Clinton more sympathetic to voters. But Trump is an enraged narcissist backed into a corner and lashing out. Reality doesn’t matter so much to him.

The Clinton campaign has released the following statement:
We’re not surprised to see Donald Trump continue his destructive race to the bottom. Hillary Clinton understands the opportunity in this town hall is to talk to voters on stage and in the audience about the issues that matter to them, and this stunt doesn’t change that. If Donald Trump doesn’t see that, that’s his loss. As always, she’s prepared to handle whatever Donald Trump throws her way.
