Curt Schilling, legendary pitcher and world series champion for the Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks, has been on the political scene for a few years now after having retired from baseball (and having been fired from broadcasting due to offensive, hate-mongering social media posts). Lots of money? Hates minority and LGBT folks? Sounds like a Trumpist to me.
But now it’s out in the open.
Today, Saturday the 22nd, he held a rally in Boston in support of Donald Trump for president, under a banner that read, “HER LIES MATTER.” Maybe fifteen people came. Click the link for the sad pictures.
Oh, and just a reminder as it has been diaried here a couple of times, Curt is planning to run for Senate. In Massachusetts. Against Elizabeth Warren.
Dear Curt,
As a former fan of yours as a baseball fan, I wanted to offer some unsolicited advice.
Here is now NOT to run for Senate:
First, don’t oppose Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts.
Second, don’t be a vocal supporter of the Trumpster Fire himself days after announcing you may be running for public office in a couple of years. Siding with someone who has no chance in politics, against a woman who can do whatever she wants in politics, is a one-way ticket to political purgatory.
Respectfully yours,
Sid
