When the director of the Clay County Development Corporation in Clay County, West Virginia Pamela Taylor and Mayor Beverly Whaling got into trouble over racist postings on Facebook, things spread pretty quickly, ending with Taylor losing her job. After Donald Trump’s sketchy electoral victory, Ms. Taylor thought posting this to her Facebook page was a bright idea.
It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels.
Mayor Whaling submitted her letter of resignation which was accepted. Taylor for her part was a lot more aggressive with her racism. After being suspended, Taylor decided to use the defense of the racist—“reverse racism.”
Taylor says she is working with her attorney to file a lawsuit against individual(s) who have slandered her.
She says she is sorry for everything that has happened but says she now believes the situation has turned into a "hate crime against me."
It looks like a nice short suspension is enough for Clay County officials.
Pamela Taylor, whose online post referred to Obama as an “ape in heels,” is on suspension and is scheduled to return to work at the Clay County Development Corp. on Friday, Dec. 23, according to the letter from Leslie McGlothin to the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services.
Taylor has a strange work history with the Clay County Development Corporation.
According to meeting minutes obtained through a public records request to the Bureau of Senior Services when Taylor was initially suspended, board president Eunice Thomas and board secretary/treasurer Donald Holcomb decided on Taylor’s suspension. Thomas, Holcomb and other board members did not respond to requests for comment.
Before she became director, Taylor was briefly removed twice from her job at the CCDC.
