Nobody I know has covered this. Perhaps because this is the well-known interview when Trump denied Russia was behind the hacking. That got the major coverage, even on Fox News.
The question about how often Trump received his presidential intelligence brief was int the middle of the 4 ¾ minute interview. The question starts at 2:30 minutes.
Watch it here.
A perhaps minor thing, but one I haven’t seen reported, is that when asked the question by Chris Wallace on Fox about how often he got intelligence briefings he was given the “once a week” answer in the question.
“You are getting the presidential daily brief only once a week” states Wallace, not really a question.
Trump paused for a second and before he gave a non-specific answer.
“I get them when I need them” followed by that he’s always available with an hour’s notice and mild praise (“they are very good people”) for the intelligence briefers.
He never specifically anywhere else — to my knowledge — said he gets them once a week.
He actually didn’t lie, probably because he knows that too many people are aware of how often he gets briefed.
I have my doubts about how many he’s had since the first ones after the election, if any. I assume that is an assignment given to Pence.
With Trump running a Twitter foreign policy, why should we worry about whether he’s getting the latest top secret intelligence?
