I’ve seen a whole lot of depressed and sad Bernie Sanders voters talking about the primary election as though it’s a done deal now that Super Tuesday is over (or mostly over).
What in the hell are you people talking about?
It sounds like you think the Democratic Primary ended tonight.
Guess what? It didn’t.
Delegates needed to win? Just over 2,300 including super delegates and half plus one of the earned, pledged delegate of 4,051 or 2,026.
How many delegates have been won so far?

THIS DATA WILL BE UPDATED THROUGHOUT THE EVENING AS TOTALS ARE REPORTED IN
Upon reading a number of analysis about the Super Tuesday races before today, I was of the mind (and commented yesterday) that what we should expect coming out of the Super Tuesday states was a total of earned, pledged delegates:
Clinton 100-200 ahead of Sanders.
As of 8:48 pm PST that is now 230 more for Clinton.
UPDATE:
As of 9:20 pm PST that is now 213 more for Clinton
As of 9:32 pm PST that is now 202 more for Clinton
AS OF 11:55 PM PST THAT IS NOW 195 MORE FOR CLINTON
As of 8:17 am pst that is now 194 more for Clinton
Very definitely within the range I expected to see tonight, although it must be noted that there are STILL a lot of delegates still on the table (I’ve already seen an increase of the delegates awarded in a number of states while writing this piece).
So don’t be cheering (if you’re a Clinton supporter) or weeping (if you’re a Sanders supporter).
15 out of 50 states and 2 out of 6 Territories or Other voter groups, close to 1/3 rd of the total amount of states and territories and others which will eventually vote in this primary.
Don’t believe ANYONE who tells you this thing is over.
It’s just the first turn of this horse race — we still have the back stretch, the far turn and the home stretch to come. So get your GOTV shoes on and get out there and make some hay!
Your candidate is counting on your participation to increase voter energy because which ever Democratic candidate becomes our nominee?
The damned Republicans are coming out in droves to vote for Trump and Cruz and our side of the aisle is half asleep! We cannot afford to allow so many of our fellow Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters to just fail to cast a ballot this year — because the result of that will be a President Trump or possibly (and worse!) a President Cruz.
Ugh. Please, do whatever you can to help prevent that from happening.
p.s.
I still see tv bobble-heads INCLUDING super delegates when reporting delegates won tonight. This is bullshit and bad journalism. Don’t listen to them. Those super delegates won’t cast their ballots until the Floor Votes at the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia in July. No matter what any or all of them may have publicly said so far, any person who knows the rules of the Democratic Party when it comes to the Presidential Primary knows that you should NOT be counting those super delegates during the primary state elections. Because they just don’t count until the Convention in July.
I’ve been admonished to be a politician and ask for your assistance (and your vote, if you live in the 3rd District of WA State). You can find my particulars in this edition of Help Progressives Win at the bottom of the page. Thank you.
Please note the other progressive candidates on that page, like Mayor John Fetterman, who is running for the US Senate from Pennsylvania, a guy whom I would LOVE to see sitting on the Floor of the US Senate. Smart, community oriented, progressive. Great candidate, and I hope everyone you know who lives in Pennsylvania hears about him from you!
