Speaking at a Florida delegates breakfast at the Democratic National Convention, Debbie Waserman-Schultz was boo’ed from the podium. DWS stepped back a couple of times and retook the podium, each time getting boo’ed down again. She told the crowd how she spoke to Hillary and she would be taking a chair position with her campaign, seemingly making it all about her. The crowd continued to boo her but she yelled over them.
As she left, press swarmed her and the boo’s continued.
This is terrible optics and it’s past time for DWS to put her ego aside for the good of the party. Any rookie campaign worker understands as soon as things become about you and not the candidate, you are not doing your job.
DWS stealing the headlines:
Bedlam erupts as Wasserman Schultz speaks to Florida delegates
PHILADELPHIA — Chaos erupted as Debbie Wasserman Schultz addressed Florida delegates on Monday, with opponents jeering the outgoing Democratic National Committee chairwoman as she delivered a speech at a state breakfast meeting.
"So I can see that's little bit of interest in my being here and I appreciate that interest," Wasserman Schultz said amid the cacophony, which began as soon as she started speaking.
And a little bit of interest from the press," she continued -- straining to be heard over shouts of "Shame!"
As she began talking, though, audience members and with Bernie Sanders shirts started shouting and yelling waving signs that said “Thanks for the “Help” Debbie”” and signs that simply read “e-mails.”
After her remarks, Wasserman Schultz left the room. New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker then took the stage and the crowd quieted down again.

Rendell and others are stating on MSNBC that DWS should not be allowed to take the stage tonight and gavel in the convention as she is insisting she’ll do. Yesterday, she was resistant to initial calls for her to resign. Late in the day, President Obama called her and asked her to step down as Chair of the DNC to which she finally complied.
