Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN): what will you do to enforce what’s left of the Voting Rights Act. Sessions: VRA one of the most important laws, blah, blah, blah and it worked and this is everything there is to know about the VRA and Klobuchar interrupts: Yeah, what are you going to do about the Texas law now before the courts that discriminates. Sessions: Haven’t studied it, blah, blah, blah, it’ll be my job as AG to study it. But Congress and courts have more to do with it. I’ll say this for him, he knows his VRA history. Just won’t say what he’s gonna do about enforcing it. Klobuchar: you do realize that the VRA is about protecting voters, not punishing states, right? Right? Then moves to Russia and election interference—do you have any reason to question our 17 intelligence agencies. Do you believe the report? Sessions: no reason not to. Klobuchar: You’ll support and enforce VAWA? Sessions: Yes. Klobuchar: lots of Fortune 500 firms headed up by immigrants, huge economic benefit of immigrants—do you see that? Sessions: American people don’t want to end immigration but if we bring in too many they’ll take away all the jobs, so yeah, he ignored the question.
