Senator Al Franken (D-MN) and a bipartisan group of US senators, including Sens. Chris Murphy (D-CT), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Mike Lee (R-UT), have signed on to a letter asking for an immediate briefing on the conflictingly reported Yemeni raid. The letter is addressed to Defense Secretary James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Director of National Intelligence Michael Dempsey.
“We write today with serious concerns about U.S. policy in Yemen and to urgently request a classified briefing regarding our actions and objectives there,” the senators wrote in a letter to Defense Secretary James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and acting Director of National Intelligence Michael Dempsey.
There are a lot of real questions about this military event, including reports that Donald Trump, who made this decision during dinner, decided to not attend the “Situation Room” during the raid and instead attacked news outlets on Twitter.
