Update 2:
This is getting curiouser and curiouser… it’s as if my satirical story just came true. The reports from the pool reporter covering Trump in Florida said that when they had a few questions to ask him, first they asked how his meeting with Abo went, and then they asked what he thought about the N. Korean missle test. He stood there as if he had no idea what the reporter was talking about. His next words were “thank you very much” and he walked back inside. I just saw this replayed on TV, and no doubt it will be televised again and again. Andrea Mitchel said he didn’t seem to be aware that the test had happened! That’s how it looked to me.
Update 1:
This suddenly got very serious and I am tempted to remove the story… I turned on the TV and discovered that N. Korea just launched so kind of missile. I have to wonder if it was timed to Trump’s “working vacation” at his plush estate in Florida. Still, my point is that we just can’t trust Trump and his close advisors to act in a sane and sober way to perceived threats.
Trump Tweeted that the Mexican Navy has been sighted off our Pacific coast. Small ships like the Polaris class interceptor have crossing the territorial waters of the United States near San Diego, home of one of our largest naval bases, the 32nd Street
Naval Station.
President Peña Nieto of Mexico contacted The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, the AP, and Reuters in a joint phone call within minutes after Trump announced this via Tweet:
Mexico threatens US territorial waters, ordered
alert at DefCon 3, BACK OFF OR ELSE
Trump had been golfing at his Mar-a-Lago estate with Prime Minister Abe. According to two sources who were there at the time at approximately 2:00 PM Gen. Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon approached the golfers driven at high speed in a Secret Service SUV, and huddled with the president for several minutes.
Trump was then seen using his cell phone, apparently to write a Tweet.
President Peña Nieto, who sources say has Trump’s Twitter feed monitored day and night, attempted to reach Trump immediately. For reasons yet to explained he was unable to do so.
He then Tweeted out:
Mexico holding, joint naval exercises with US, Canada, nothing to worry about.
President Peña Nieto then initiated a call to the press explaining that the Mexican naval vessels were preparing to rendezvous with American and Canadian warships to take part in a three day joint exercise to begin Monday.
These jointed exercises are held on a regular basis.
The Mexican Navy has been modernizing their fleet since 2007:
The Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Francisco Saynez Mendoza, announced on October 1, 2007, detailed plans to upgrade and modernize the country's naval capabilities. On the following day, La Jornada newspaper from Mexico City, disclosed the Mexican Navy plans, which are among others, to build six oceanic patrol vessels (OPV) with a length of 86 meters, 1680 tons and each housing a Eurocopter Panther helicopter as well as small high speed interception boats. The budget for this project is above $200 million USD.
Another project is to build 12 CB 90 HMN high speed (50 knots) interception boats under license from a Swedish boat company to the Mexican Navy. Also, a number of fully equipped planes for surveillance and maritime patrol are being considered. Combinations of options and development are being defined. Wikipedia
Dear Trump Supporters,
This story is totally fabricated. Not that it couldn’t be true.

At Mar-a-Lago, Trump tackles crisis diplomacy at close range — CNN- Sunday Feb 12
Excerpts,emphasis added:
But as he sat down for the planned working dinner with Abe, whose country is well within range of North Korea's missiles, it was clear his counterpart felt it necessary to respond to the test. The launch occurred just before 8 a.m. on Sunday morning in Japan.
Trump's National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and chief strategist Steve Bannon left their seats to huddle closer to Trump as documents were produced and phone calls were placed to officials in Washington and Tokyo.
The patio was lit only with candles and moonlight, so aides used the camera lights on their phones to help the stone-faced Trump and Abe read through the documents.
=========
Trump, in his short remarks, didn't mention the launch. He used a short statement to vow support for Japan instead.
=========
He declined to read from a set of prepared remarks, which photographers captured images of, that were resting on his podium. Those remarks did mention the missile test specifically and vowed cooperation between allies to "safeguard and protect" against North Korea's "provocative acts."
"That was a joint statement we decided not to make," a senior administration official said afterward, explaining why those remarks were cast aside. Because Abe spoke first, and then Trump, there was "no need for communique," the official said.
