Are you okay with Republicans in Congress refusing to call out President Trump for capriciously adding another $400 million to the public debt which is rapidly approaching $20 trillion dollars, a debt you, your children, and grandchildren will be forced to pay?
Leading Republicans like Speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Orrin Hatch, Utah’s senior Republican senator, carped for years about how President Obama added to the public debt with wasteful spending.
Hatch, in an October 9, 2015 press release, actually said, “Since President Obama took office, we have seen both the greatest buildup of debt and the lowest interest rates in history.”
Although Hatch failed to mention that the primary reason for President Obama presiding over the ‘greatest buildup of debt in history’ was to successfully save the economy from the impending depression created by the greedy machinations of people who ran the nation’s largest financial institutions and to pay for wars started by his predecessor, Hatch’s point is well taken.
Most Americans agree with the notion that excessive spending by politicians has created an economic sword of Damocles that will hang over the heads of Americans for generations to come . . . a fact which begs a question regarding the current president’s spending taxpayer dollars for fun.
Despite the following tweets in which Trump criticizes President Obama for playing golf, taking vacations, and for causing taxpayers to have to pay for travel . . .

“Yesterday @BarackObama actually spent a full day in Washington. He didn't campaign, fund raise or play golf. Shocking!” - 10:09 AM - 22 Nov 2011

"Don't take vacations. What's the point? If you're not enjoying your work, you're in the wrong job. -- Think Like a Billionaire.” - 12:28 PM - 19 Nov 2012

“We pay for Obama's travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies. Then we pay for his golf.” - 1:35 PM - 14 Oct 2014
. . . in only 80 days, Trump has spent more than 20 million taxpayer dollars for fun trips to and from Palm Beach, Florida.
At this rate, Trump’s fun jaunts will add an additional 100 million dollars to the public debt each and every year he manages to hang on to his place in the White House.
By way of contrast, President Obama spent a total of 97 million dollars on travel throughout the entire eight years he was in office.
Given Republican criticisms of President Obama’s spending to save the economy and pay for wars he didn’t start, should we expect men like Ryan, McConnell, and Hatch and other GOP leaders to call out Donald Trump for adding to the deficit to the tune of 100 million or more dollars per year simply to have fun?
If Republicans in Congress continue to stand by in silence while Trump plays with the economic well-being of this and future of generations, what should we do?
Huh?
