So-called Attorney General Jeff Sessions appeared on your teevee today to, among other tasks, explain away his belittlement of a federal judge in Hawaii (and, while he was at it, the whole state) because, to the bafflement of Jeff Sessions, that judge Disagreed With Donald Trump About A Thing.
His original comment:
"I really am amazed that a judge sitting on an island in the Pacific can issue an order that stops the President of the United States from what appears to be clearly his statutory and Constitutional power."
His explanation today:
When asked by ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview Sunday on "This Week" about why he referred to Hawaii as an "island in the Pacific," Sessions responded "nobody has a sense of humor anymore."
That was indeed his entire explanation. He was just funnin', tee-hee, and quickly followed on with a stream of talking points about why the judge was wrong and dumb and Donald Trump, who publicly doesn't seem to be making any progress at all in the "90 day review" of the refugee vetting programs that he used to justify the blanket ban, can declare every Muslim in a given list of nations to be untenable threats to 'Merica if he damn well feels like it. It was a joke, you see!
Eventually you'd think Trump would stumble on somebody who was good at their job just through sheer luck, but no. When you hang out with people like Jeff Sessions, people like Jeff Sessions is what you get.
