A while ago I wrote a diary about interesting sites on the internet. I’ve been looking around some more, naturally, and have come up with a new batch for you. Here goes.
The first one might seem weird to you, but to me, it’ s something I can really use. I do glue things to other things quite frequently around here. If you don’t use the right glue, it won’t work. What if you needed to glue glass to fabric? This little program will tell you your options. www.thistothat.com
Here’s another site I found to be just simply fascinating. It has all types of information presented in various “beautiful” ways. I think anyone would enjoy checking it out. Be warned. You may lose hours of your life in doing so. www.informationisbeautiful.net
With all the concern these days about privacy on the internet (what’s that?) there’s a site that will provide you with a temporary 10-minute email address. You can set it up to last longer. I haven’t really thought it through, but I’m sure there would be reasons you’d want to use it. For instance, if you wanted to go to some shopping site and not have that site track you from then on. It would be a great way to decrease spam as well. minutemail.com/…
Along with this line of thinking, how would you like to kill off accounts you have out there that you either don’t remember having or just want to get rid of (including social media accounts)?
www.accountkiller.com/…
Are you desirous of being truly obnoxious by spewing lots of “facts” about things? Maybe you want to hone up on random things so you can kick ass in some trivial pursuit game. Did you know that 85% of women wear the wrong bra size? Here you go. www.ebizarre.com
Here’s a site that is truly useful. Have you ever wanted to print something from some website and it looks like sh*t when you do? Well, Print Friendly is for you. www.printfriendly.com
Do you like audio books? Do you wish someone would read to you like when you were a kid (well, that didn’t happen for me, but it did for a lot of kids)? Do you want it all for free? audiobookle.com
Love documentaries do you? How about a ton of them all for free? documentaryheaven.com
At this point in my life I really don’t need this anymore, but when I was in school, this would have been really awesome. I made flash cards to remember things when there was a shitload of things to remember for some test. This site lets you make flashcards on steroids because you can also add pictures and videos. apps.ankiweb.net
Have you lost the manual that came with an appliance or some power tool or practically anything that came with a user’s manual? This site has you covered. www.manualslib.com
Do you have nothing but time to waste and are really a curious sort? www.howstuffworks.com
Want to learn a language but can’t afford Rosetta Stone? This is considered to be one of the very best free sites for doing that. www.duolingo.com
I haven’t tried this site, but boy howdy, if it works what a frustration killer. Do you hate it when you call some company and have to go through and an endless tree before you ever get to talk to a real person? gethuman.com
OK, as you can imagine I could go on and on. I think it’s time to stop.
What do you want to talk about today?
DATE CHANGED! See original diary for an update.
