When news hit the internets that unpopular President Trump made the “strong and decisive” decision to take up the recommendation from “I’m going to recuse myself from anything connected to the Russian investigations” Attorney General Jeff Sessions and fired James Comey, people wanted answers. Like the Wicked Witch’s flying monkey army, Trump’s propaganda minions went to the airwaves to try their best to defend the indefensible. Kellyanne Conway, probably best known for defending Trump gems like “microwave cameras,” went on Anderson Cooper 360 to tell everybody that nothing had happened, it was all in your minds, and you should go back to sleep.
Campaign Action
Cooper pointed out that a considerable amount of the “reasoning” given for Comey’s “dismissal” was his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Conway says nope. Cooper then shows the relentless barrage of video evidence of candidate Donald Trump saying how awesome FBI Director James Comey is in handling the investigation of Hillary Clinton.
Cooper: So now your white house is saying that what he did was wrong but previously, as a candidate, Donald Trump was saying it's the right thing.
Conway: You are conflated two things that don’t belong together; but thank you for the trip down memory lane. I was on your show often last fall saying how we were going to win Michigan and how we were going to do it...
At this moment, Anderson Cooper rolls his eyes so hard he almost falls off of his chair. It’s a good thing he does because anyone watching and listening to the words and winking (yes she “winks” at Cooper), of Conway might have went blind with confusion and rage.
Enjoy.
