Welcome back to the Monday Good News Roundup, where I provide the news to help you get revved up for November when we will finally be able to rid ourselves of that great orange idiot and his cronies once and for all. The polls have been very promising this month, but lets not take that for granted, and work as hard as we can to make sure we can take down Trump. No mess ups this time.
So without further ado, the news.
There is some evidence, though, that Trump’s illness may be hurting his reelection chances. SurveyUSA was in the field with a national poll from Oct. 1 (before Trump announced his diagnosis) to Oct. 4 (when Trump was in the hospital), and the pollster found that Joe Biden led Trump by just 4 points in interviews conducted before Trump was hospitalized. But in interviews after Trump’s hospitalization, Biden led by 16 points. A Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll identified a similar pattern: Biden led by 5 points in interviews conducted before Trump’s diagnosis and by a shocking 21 points in interviews after it.
Yeah, as it turns out coming down with an illness he spent the better part of the year downplaying for the sake of his own greed might be hurting Trumps reelection chances. Who could have guessed aside from literally everyone?
HARRISBURG, Pa. — A federal judge in Pennsylvania on Saturday threw out a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump’s campaign, dismissing its challenges to the battleground state’s poll-watching law and its efforts to limit how mail-in ballots can be collected and which of them can be counted.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan — who was appointed by Trump — in Pittsburgh also poured cold water on Trump’s claims that election fraud will work against him.
As we all know, with the pandemic and economic suffering rampant, and lacking any viable venues of attack on Biden like he had on Clinton, Trumps primary strategy to get reelected has been “try and cheat as much as possible” and also “Lock myself in the White House and hope Biden doesn’t have a spare set of keys”. But as we can see the courts are having none of that. Of course, many people have already voted by mail, despite Trumps attempts to block it, and many more will vote by mail or in person to get him out of office.
New York continues to have one of the nation’s lowest rates of people testing positive for the coronavirus, but experts say recent outbreaks and cooler weather could push those numbers up.
The state had the second-lowest positive test rate in the country, according to Covid Act Now, a nonprofit website run by epidemiologists, public health experts, data scientists and others that analyzes COVID-19 data. In the latest analysis, from Saturday, only Maine, at 0.5%,had a lower rate than New York, which was tied with Vermont for the second-lowest positivity rate of 1.2%. Idaho, with 23.9% of people testing positive, had the highest. The group uses a 7-day rolling average of test results.
Once again, showing how Democratic leadership can have a positive effect on keeping COVID under wraps. Lets get Biden elected and we can get the virus numbers down everywhere and maybe get things back to normal.
Researchers may have discovered a safe new way to manage blood sugar non-invasively.
Exposing diabetic mice to a combination of static electric and magnetic fields for a few hours per day normalizes blood sugar and insulin resistance, researchers at the University of Iowa have found.
As someone who was diagnosed prediabetic last year, this is great news for me. Come on baby, zap the diabetes away. My body is ready.
In a statement, researchers at the American University’s (AU) Department of Chemistry explained that spinach, when converted from its leafy, edible form into carbon nanosheets, acts as a catalyst for an oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cells and metal-air batteries.
An oxygen reduction reaction is one of two reactions in fuel cells and metal-air batteries and is usually the slower one that limits the energy output of these devices.
Researchers have long known that certain carbon materials can catalyze the reaction. But those carbon-based catalysts don’t always perform as good or better than the traditional platinum-based catalysts.
Imagine it, you can now pack the power usually reserved for beating the crap out of Bluto into your car. Just imagine it, the Popeye theme playing every time you turn on your car.
Well, that’s it for this week. Pretty slow on the news as long as President COVID is still high off his ass on steroids, but we’ll see how long that lasts. I have a feeling he’s gonna have a real crash to Earth very soon. And we’re gonna make sure it happens. So make sure you get out to vote, and get others to vote, we need to bring all our forces to bear. I know we can do this.
