Tue Oct 28, 2003 at 10:50:36 AM PDT

reminder: vote in the poll...and comment on your favorite (or most embarrassing!) reaction to the sound of bush's voice.

bush, during his press conference today said:
The "Mission Accomplished" sign, of course, was put up by the members of the USS Abraham Lincoln saying that their mission was accomplished.

bush lies

see more below...

from the article linked above:
. . . .The most elaborate - and criticized - White House event so far was Mr. Bush's speech aboard the Abraham Lincoln announcing the end of major combat in Iraq. White House officials say that a variety of people, including the president, came up with the idea, and that Mr. [Scott] Sforza embedded himself on the carrier to make preparations days before Mr. Bush's landing in a flight suit and his early evening speech.

Media strategists noted afterward that Mr. Sforza and his aides had choreographed every aspect of the event, even down to the members of the Lincoln crew arrayed in coordinated shirt colors over Mr. Bush's right shoulder and the "Mission Accomplished" banner placed to perfectly capture the president and the celebratory two words in a single shot. The speech was specifically timed for what image makers call "magic hour light," which cast a golden glow on Mr. Bush.

"If you looked at the TV picture, you saw there was flattering light on his left cheek and slight shadowing on his right," Mr. King said. "It looked great."

thanks to muzing gaze over at atrios.

wow. this administration - not surprisingly - has an unflinching willingness to lie to, well, anyone.

what's most disappointing isn't anything bush does - i expect it from him. but the complete lack of journalistic and intellectual integrity on the part of the press is disgusting - and a little scary.

It's true, I scream profanity at the radio.  My wife is disturbed by this and makes me turn off the NPR when he's on and we're both in the car.

I can't remember the last time I listened to the (p)resident.    I read the transcripts instead; much better for my blood pressure.

Whenever I hear/see Bush, or Cheney and Wolfowitz (those three, no one else for some reason), my middle finger goes up.  Instinctively now.  For real.  I can't help it.   It's my version of the "Black Power" salute.

As I mention relentlessly, I am the sole progressive in the Republican stronghold (I'm working on it... one at a time) state, Wyoming, and I am surrounded by conservatives at work. I listen to NPR on headphones as I post on kos all day... I mean... as I work hard at my desk all day, and I let out quite a few expletives that are louder than I think they are. I know this because I once did it when my boss was standing behind me. The danger of headphones. He doesn't approve of cursing.

Actually my most visceral reaction is a wave of nausea and irritability that sweeps over me involuntarily-- caused by his grating tone which is the most annoying sound this side of fingernails on a chalkboard.

Yup, its the involuntary reaction. There is something malevolent and vile about these people and I add Perle and Rice to that as well.

I have a little mantra that came to me before the war started "I hope you die in blood and fear and fire and pain", it goes through my mind every time I see or hear them. I have never wished anything bad on anyone in my life, but these vile scum have me doing it now, that is what I detest most about them, what they have done to me.

And the other day I hit the damned TV screen. can't watch or listen to them any more, what comes from them is visual and auditory pus.
