Well the current round of attacks in Iraq started with Ramadan, when it became impossible to enforce a curfew.
Tonight, the night of 21-22 November is the night of 26-27 Ramadan, the night most ofen taken to be the 'night of Power'(Laylat ul-Qadr). Thats the anniversary of the Prophet receiving the first Sura of the Koran, the nearest equivalent to Good Friday I believe in Moslem practice, and a date of immense sgnificance.
I will be very relieved if we get through this 24 hours without some extra-dramatic piece of theatrical violence or even an attempted coup somewhere.
On the other hand we can perhaps hope for some slackening of atacks once Ramadan is over. Just for a time...
