Kit Seelye sharpens her claws on Clark

Tue Dec 30, 2003 at 08:33:53 PM PDT

I'm a Dean person, but I wanted to warn the Clarkies.

General Clark, the former supreme allied commander in Europe, received multiple decorations in his 34-year military career. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Mr. Clinton in 2000. The commercial does not mention that just months before that ceremony, Mr. Clinton's administration relieved General Clark of his command.

Kit Seelye is attending the Picklerizing School of Faux Journalism.

I blew that off. Overall, the article acknowledged that the Clark ad with Clinton is dynamite. Seelye almost had to put that one para in, to maintain her membership in good standing in the media whores' club.

Rick, what do you mean?  Don't you see what's wrong with a candidate using a strategy that accentuates his positives?  I don't know about you, but I'm shocked, just shocked to learn that a candidate would spend all that time raising money to put a 30 second advertisement on the air, and then not use the majority of those 30 seconds to disseminate misleading and possibly negative impressions of himself.

    I dont get it??

I mean the ad description is pretty clear, and the only misleading thing is her statement of Clark being relieved of his duty by Clinton.

I dont think its something they can make stick, and if thats as bad as it gets, hell I'll take it   any day .

any publicity is almost good, just to be getting the name out there.

Wow, that is a pickler if I ever read one.  I was under the impression that Clark was relieved of command only through the trickery of other military higher-ups.

I'm not a Clark supporter (I'm going for Dean), although from what I can tell he's a good guy, but this bit about Clark being relieved of command is kind of a non-story for me. As I understand it, he was backstabbed by some other military muckety-mucks, who had Clinton sign the papers without giving full disclosure.  Clearly, Clinton seems happy with Clark, or he wouldn't be backing him so transparently. And unless Hugh Shelton is willing to speak publicly and in detail, I'm not inclined to give any credence to his snide comments about character and integrity.  In fact, it seems like a bit of pot calling the kettle.

Anyway, congrats to Clark on the birth of his grandchild!

No, I think Miz Seelye sharpened her claws on Dean, then when they were nice and lethal, dug into Clark.
Everybody's looking for new membership into the "Heathers".
Conversely, Ceci Connolly, one of the original Heathers, has written some half-way decent material lately on Dean, even after Gore, her favorite target, endorsed him.  Go figure.
