I was reading the New Yorker and came across this
article . According to the sources cited by the author, people in the U.S. have not made gains in height (and may even be shrinking) while natives of Europeans and Asians continue to grow in height. Supposedly this measuring has been controlled for immigration and the inclusion of "shorter" non-European descended people. That's an interesting statistic, although I'm not sure that a strong case can be made for
why this is (the article mentions a few hypotheses).
But that leads to today's survey, which is somewhat less rigorous. However, previous surveys here have shown that we are younger, way better educated, richer, whiter, more male, less married, and have fewer children than the average American. So with our self-selected group already in place, let's see how we do with height.
