So I was pwning my neocon "friends" last night until two very unfortunate arguments were raised.
I pointed out that the GOP has become disgustingly partisan, as evident from the recent redistricting in Texas. The neocons countered that the Democrats were the first to play the redistricting card when they did so in Georgia 30 years ago. Does anyone have some insight into this or a response?
The second was the issue of gay marriage. Now I realize that the "slipper slope" fallacy is poor logic and simply demagoguic rhetoric, but how can I justify giving gays the right to marry and not polygamists? Any ideas?
I don't like having to ask other people to come up with responses for me, since a good debater should be able to come up them himself, but I've given it quite a bit of thought with only marginal success. Thanks a lot- Aaron
