I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm fascinated by today's resignation of CIA director George Tenet. I've been looking around for analysis, but I want more. More hard information, more speculation, more plausible scenarios...I don't know just
what the significance of this event is, but I feel like it's huge.
I've gone through today's diaries and have assembled this list of links to everything about the story on dKos:

Josh Marshall thinks Tenet's resignation was basically a firing; I've come to give his thoughts a lot of weight, but I wonder...if he's going to be the scapegoat, couldn't the administration have handled this better? As it is, how much credit can they take for purging him? Will they let the talking heads eviscerate him while they take the high road and keep talking about his career of service? Or is this another example of their incompetence?
Or did Tenet himself decide to get out? Is it because he can't stomach this administration any longer? Or does he want to prevent his image from being further tarnished by association with this administration (especially if he's privy to something explosive that's soon to break)?
I imagine much of this is being discussed in the threads to which I linked above; unfortunately, today was not a slack day at work, so I'm just now going to get a chance to dive in.
