I see that the donation totals have been updated. So let's take a look.
For one thing, check out Stan! I think that between the matching funds and a couple of extra pushes on the front page, Stan (who I worried might not have the cache of a Knowles or Morrison) is now leading the board.
Morrison is not doing too shabbily either, the senate candidates are coming on strong, and Jeff Seeman is our sentimental favorite.
So, to even things out a bit, please give money to Jim Stork and Lois Murphy. I don't know if this just hasn't been updated for a while, but Jim's still down below 100 donors. Will 16 people step up to the plate? I did and his campaign sent me a very nice thank you note. Lois Murphy also got a later start and can use your help.
I know some have already complained to kos about the pleas for money, but we are heading toward the end of a reporting period and the election will really be here before we know it.
For all of our ranting and raving, there's only so much that most of us can do. We won't change Bush's policy--we're not going to be able to run around chasing terrorists--so what can we do? One of the most attainable things for most of us is to give money to candidates--and that is because our goal is to get Democrats in office so that they can help us out of these messes in the way that only governments can. Oh, and make Tom Delay sweat.
I'm not some kind of big money donor myself. I tend to drop off $20 here and there--maybe repeatedly if I like what I see. But I have to say it's darn satisfying to see those numbers go up. I have hope that we'll see our totals in the senate and house go up as well.
