Well, I saw
Dodgeball tonight. I'm not necessarily proud of that fact, though I will say that if you think there's any chance that you might like it, you probably will.
More important than that: Watching the preview for Fahrenheit 911, I had a realization that I haven't seen anybody else talk about.
The true impact of Fahrenheit 911 is going to come not through the (surprisingly high but still not enough to swing the election) numbers of people who actually go to see it, but through the much greater numbers of people who are forced to watch its incredibly effective trailer before other movies, like, say, Dodgeball.
I hadn't realized the trailer was in general circulation, as I'd only seen it before genre pieces like Supersize Me; but I'm very glad it is.
The trailer, not the movie, is what will make the mark. "Now watch this drive" will change some minds.
