I don't know how many cyclists abound these parts, but I am fanatical about both the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España. The Giro d'Italia comes too early in the season for me to really get into it, and I'm generally not a fan of Italian cycling (though I'm loving Ivan Basso).
Well, Wednesday we'll see what may be one of the most amazing stages in the Tour in years -- a straight time trial up the face of the legendary Alpe d'Huez.
I'll be up early to catch as much as possible of this one live on OLN. The riders start up too early for me to see the first few riders (6 a.m. PT), but the best ones won't get going until for a couple of hours. Lance Armstrong, for the casual fans, will be the last rider up the mountain at 10:58 a.m. ET.
Update: Here's a good primer on what Alpe d'Huez means to the cycling world ("like the Super Bowl and NBA Finals all in one day").
