Democrats
won their third of three House special elections this year yesterday in North Carolina, when G.K. Butterfield took the NC-01 open seat vacated by scandal-plagued Democrat Frank Ballance.
The district is heavily Democratic, so the race warranted little attention (though Republicans expressed confidence that they could steal one from the Dems). Butterfield will face his same opponent in a November rematch. But given he won last night 71-27, this seat is officiall off the radar.
