Who's suprised by this news? I guess Nader believes in the old addage, "It's not cheating, unless you get caught." Well, Ralphy, you're caught.
The head of the Michigan Democratic Party said Friday that the party's check of the tens of thousands of signatures gathered by the Republicans to put presidential candidate Ralph Nader of the ballot show a clear pattern of fraud, a charge Republicans deny.
It seems that Naderites didn't feel the need to read the rule book.
(Michigan Democratic Party Executive Charman Mark Brewer) said the party has discovered that one in five of the 50,000 signatures gathered by both Republicans and and Nader supporters belong to people who aren't registered to vote or whose signatures are invalid for other reasons.
The Party's biggest complaint though alleges that Michigan Republican Party staffers didn't circulate the petitions themselves, instead adding their names as circulators once the petitions containing 20,000 signatures came into party offices.
I think Chairman Brewer summed it up best by saying, "...a vote for Nader is a vote for George Bush."
Indeed. Dissent may be an our right as Americans, but protesting the mainstream candidates by voting for Nader will get us 4 more years of Bush. This is an AP story and I'm still searching for the link. If anyone finds it, I'd appreciate it.
