Ron Fournier reports on a
Kerry $45 million, 20-state ad buy.
Curious about which states? Read on.
"Previewing its fall strategy, John Kerry's presidential campaign will buy $45 million worth of commercial time in 20 states through Election Day, including spots on cable television and advertising geared toward minorities."
"The Democratic presidential nominee is targeting the oft-mentioned battleground states of Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington state, Wisconsin and West Virginia."
Petey's Take:
No Tennessee, which is no surprise given Team Kerry's lack of interest. But given the closeness of public polling, that lack of interest has always seemed odd to me.
No Virginia, which is slightly more of a surprise. Team Kerry has already been on the air there.
Yes to Arkansas, which sounds like good news to me. They were off the air there during July, and Team Kerry seemed to have lost interest.
Yes to Louisiana. Either I want some of what Team Kerry is smoking, or they see something the public polling just doesn't show. Not only are they going back on the air, but they've sent Edwards there multiple times.
