What's the deal with
Teach for America? Is it good, or is it wack?
Allow me to clarify: I'm fairly certain it's good, but is it unconditionally good? What about it is wack? Does it attain its goals? Is it JUSTICE?
I know it aims at compensating for the achievement gap between low-income students and high-income students [among other things], but does it also seek to address the racial achievement gap? Any hard numbers on this crap?
Anybody have any experience with it? Or know what the teachers who work alongside Teach for America folks think of the program?
with peace, love, and justice,
