As the NYDailyNews drily observes, George W. Bush has made his phony "Ask The President" appearances a mainstay of his campaign:
BUSH VOWS MORE JOBS FOR OHIOANS
"BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio - President Bush promised yesterday the Ohio economy would recover through more tax cuts, and he accepted a mountain of praise from supporters at another of his highly scripted Ask the President sessions.... '
All the reporters surely recognize this as a scam -- but many feel that they can do nothing more than simply report the facts of the event. Very few will report the stage-managed context: It's a charade.
In the face of this "Ask The President" mendacity, what could be better than to pose one simple question that stands the whole event on its head -- and frames W with his own secret criminal record?
As many of you know, there's a reward for asking W that one simple question -- and it has grown to $324.29, thanks largely to donations from Kossacks and Eschatonians.
Please visit The World's Shortest Blog and figure out how to claim the reward yourself!
Or chip in a clam or two to make the pie higher.
If it goes unclaimed by November 2, 2004, all donations will be given to the DNC.
