It disturbes me to see JeffLeiber's
diary as the most recommended diary here at a liberal site. I don't mean to start a troll war or as personal offense, but I think he is absolutely G Wrong B. Shutting people up is a strategy for the freeper's, Faux news comentatory, petty dictatory, and Wussy presidents.
To borrow from Kos's story on George Lakoff's book: liberals, "have to have open, two-way communication. Honest communication. That becomes a value."
There has been plenty of talk here about keeping on message or complaining about how the Dems can't keep on message. Each time, I feel like I am hearing Republican lock-step marching orders. We cannot win by being like them, and they "hate us for our freedom."
I don't like to get into the meta-conversations about what should and should not be said here, but enough is enough. Remind me to stay positive, comfort me when I am negative. Tell me how I can help, scold me when I don't do enough. Do NOT tell me to shut up.
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it. -attributed to Voltaire
