I just wanted to show you that the world is developing even if the US is ...
... the new chief justice of the EU was attacked in the european parliament for not being gay friendly enough. Don't worry, I expect parties all over europe on the 3rd November ( in fact the 3rd November is my birthday so I'm planning a "our american friends elect Kerry and I'm getting older ;) " party. ). Don't disappoint me.

Buttiglione incensed several members of the EU legislature as he stood firm on his belief -- as a staunch Roman Catholic and close friend of Pope John Paul II -- that homosexuality is a sin, saying his moral beliefs had no influence on his politics.
"Many things may be considered immoral which should not be prohibited ... I may think that homosexuality is a sin, this has no effect on politics unless I say that homosexuality is a crime," Buttiglione said.
He vowed to defend the EU's first constitution and its charter on human rights, which says people should not be discriminated against for their sexuality, but said it was unrealistic to think that people always agreed on moral matters.
But Green lawmakers did not accept this pledge, saying Buttiglione was unfit to be a guardian of fundamental rights.
"After he has judged homosexuality as immoral, how can I trust this man to protect homosexuals against discrimination?" Dutch Green Cathalijne Buitenweg told reporters.
The only political group which supported Buttiglione was the conservative European People's Party.
The parliament is grilling members of the 25-member commission of which former Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Manuel Barroso will be president and Buttiglione one of his deputies.
The EU assembly has to approve the Commission as a team and cannot veto individual commissioners.
