Sen. Dayton closes office amid terror fears

Tue Oct 12, 2004 at 03:05:14 PM PDT

So this is weird.  Sen. Mark Dayton (D-MN) has closed his DC office based on something in an intel report shared by Frist two weeks ago.

"I take this step out of extreme, but necessary, precaution to protect the lives and safety of my Senate staff and my Minnesota constituents, who might otherwise be visiting my Senate office in the next three weeks," he said

Frist says nothing new has been presented within the last six weeks.  Who's lying?

Dayton said he would advise people from his home state to avoid Capitol Hill until after the Nov. 2 election.  Don't have to tell me twice.

  •  Dayton closes office, but not Republican Coleman (none / 0)

Our senators - Sen. Dayton (D) and Sen. Coleman (R)

The local PBS station said that Coleman, with the same intelligence, decided not to close his office.  At first I thought Dayton was just being extra careful.  Then I wondered if this has anything to do with Dayton being a Democrat and Coleman being a Republican -- and remembering the targeting of Democrats with anthrax.

Who can tell why, other than the general state of the state.

Yes, Coleman is a tool. I still think there was foul play in Wellstone's death.

Geez. Why do I sound conspiratorial when I talk politics? Actually, this only happens when the Republicans are in the Oval Office.

Chaos. It's not just a theory.

have bragged that they killed Paul Wellstone.

I don't think there's any question that the GOP took down that plane and then did something to make it look like an accident. Look at what they did to Mel Carnahan. They probably also killed John Heinz, who was too liberal for their base.

These people are murderers, thugs, and Nazis. If they are bragging about murdering Wellstone than we should look into it. If Dems ever get the Senate back I hope that they do start looking into it. I know it's not likely, but I am very convinced that Rove or Coleman was involved in Wellstone's murder.

This is very weird news that borders on the bizarre. Why would Sen. Dayton feel compelled to take this step when none of the other Senators have? Unless there's been some sort of threat made against Dayton specifically, it doesn't make much sense.
