Over this campaign, I've given over $3000 to democratic organizations, in one form or another.
I'm not bragging: plenty of people have given more, and plenty of people have given their time, which is something I cannot do because of my 90-hour-a-week job. But I've given what I can afford, and I have written dozens of letters, called news organizations, and done what I can to to help get our story out.
I've given $2,000 hard money dollars to Kerry, about $700 to the DNC, and $360 to the Kos daily dozen. By dint of a small bonus from work, I now have $400 more to give. And then that's it -- I'm tapped out
And, frankly, the Zogby poll today has depressed me. I know its probably statistical noise; I know that its a three-day poll; Blah blah blah. Rasmussen also has us down by 3, and the Washington Post will have us down by 2, mark my words. I'm not trying to be defeatist, but its not good news.
In the light of this news, I'm now too tired to figure out where it would be best to give my last $400. Should it go to GELAC, to help fight the post-election fight? How about DSCC? DCCC? ACT? The Kos Dozen? The Kentucky race? Someone else?
So, Kossians, here's what I propose. Post what I should do with my last $400, why, and post some message that will revive my spirits about this election. Whoever writes the best post covering those three criteria wins, and I'll send the money where you suggest.
