My dad's in town for a visit, so last night we decided to go out to a show. We got tickets to see
"W! The Musical", produced by
Triangle Productions and playing at Theater! Theatre! on SE Belmont.
It's the funniest damned thing I've seen in a long time.
The musical is billed as "A muscial celebration of Bush - NOT!" and takes place at a $2000-a-plate fundraiser for Bush's reelection campaign. It's basically a two-man show, with Kevin Michael-Moore as George W. Bush and Andrew Harris as Karl Rove, Antonin Scalia, Pat Robertson, and others, as they explain in song and dialogue all the "reasons" why Bush should be reelected.
The show is hilarious from beginning to end, with songs made up entirely from Bushisms (I guarantee your favorite one will be in there somewhere) and up-to-the-minute references to events and gaffes near and dear to any Kossack's heart.
If you're feeling down and need a little election-related pick-me-up, support a great production by heading down to Belmont & 34th and seeing "W! The Musical".
