Repub vandals in Texas.

Thu Oct 21, 2004 at 11:12:22 AM PDT

This is sickening.  Are these people really that afraid of Kerry having an effect in Texas?  Maybe this is a turning point, because as a Texan I would love nothing more than seeing this state go "blue".  And political/sports metaphors aside, GO 'STROS.

  •  Wow (none / 0)

I know the lady that had her car vandalized.
    •  Bear in mind... (none / 0)

...we don't know which side is doing this.  Dems have learned a trick or two from Rove, and even though most of 'em still wouldn't do this -- some would.

      •  I'm fairly sure a Dem didn't do this (none / 0)

Like I said, I personally know one of the people in the article, and she would not vandalized her own car for publicity, or participate in such an act (not saying you are suggesting that, but I think we can rule it out).

I also know the area that this happened in (Pasadena), and it's something of an act of bravery to advertise you are a Democrat down there.

        •  In all likelihood you are correct. (none / 0)

Nevertheless, condemn the act, condemn the perpetrator, but it is logically fallacious to condemn to the entire political party by extension.

It's outrageous when these types of things occur...but I stress again, use your head, not your gut.

One of the biggest complaints about the Bush administration is its conviction-(read: gut-)based certainty.  Don't mirror it.

  •  Damage in PA too (none / 0)

My truck was damaged last night.  No sticker on the truck, but I have a sign in my yard.  I live in seriously Repub. Lancaster County, but there are more Kerry signs than there were Gore signs by a country mile.

Looking for advice, should I report it?  They damaged my cover that is on the back of the truck

    •  I wouldn't hazard a guess... (none / 1)

...about what you should do about this instance.  But I do think that people ought to invest, if possible, in security systems that involve photography.

    •  Report for Insurance Purposes (none / 0)

You don't need to make a 911 call, but I would report it in case you decide you want to make a claim to your automobile insurance company.  They pretty much require a police report for vandalism.
