Apparently, not everyone agrees with Incurious George that the economic outlook is rosy.
From MSNBC :
"Continuing job worries drove consumer confidence lower in October for the third consecutive month, a New York-based private research group said Tuesday. The decline was steeper than expected.
The Consumer Confidence Index dropped 3.9 points to 92.8, down from a revised 96.7 in September, according to The Conference Board. Analysts had expected a reading of 94."
Some stats from the report:
The Expectation Index, down from 97.7 to 92.0
The Present Situation Index, down from 95.3 to 94.2
Assessment of Overall Current Conditions:
Good - 21.7% (down from 23.4%)
Bad - 21.4% (up from 20.4%)
This information is potentially good news for us. In some respects, "it's still the economy, stupid!"
