.....what? Yep that's right. Since I have this tendency to create new words out of thin air, I have proposed something that I think we should all consider today. As we go to the polls, we should Sinclairify them, and ensure that voter intimidation no longer becomes the new drug of choice for the GOP. Kevin Hayden of The American Street
lays down the foundation for this suggestion:
Personally, I'm going to get a pair of binoculars and/or a videocamera and find out who the GOP pollwatchers are, then WATCH THEM. In fact, everyone with a videocam, phonecam or whatever, should take a picture of the GOP guy doing pollwatching.
Then we can identify who they are by name and assemble a national database with their photos online. Then we can begin a REAL boycott of their legal services or whatever business they do. If we can get their home addresses, fine, let's publish them, too.
Since I'm not proposing anything illegal, I think it's a fair voter information project to identify all these GOP operatives. Know their faces. Photos of their significant others are fair game, too.
Might as well help them understand what intimidation feels like...
I know most of you are saying, "Ah gfactor, why are you suggesting we stoop to their level?" Well, I'm not necessarily suggesting we stoop to their level, but if I'm not mistaken, wasn't this website and many other similar blogs outraged early on in this election that Kerry did not fight Bush harder than he did, that he did not go for the jugular against these guys who do so on a regular basis?
I mentioned it before in a previous diary, we need massive visual documentation of these intimidators. What Kevin is suggesting is the foundation for Sinclairification - we find out who or what these intimidators represent or work for, and just like we did with Sinclair, we establish another massive boycott and email campaign. They like to subvert democracy from those that do not match their political ideologies; let's hit them back where it hurts them the most.
This ain't 2000 boys - it's a brand new day and a brand new attitude.
