I'm only allowed to write to my local paper once every two weeks or so and they put one in there on Saturday. The
North County Times prints two kinds of president-related letters: People who write in with facts and references slamming Bush and/or supporting Kerry, and people who write in accusing those who support Kerry and cite facts condemning Bush as "traitors" or "anarchists" who "hate America". Sounds like they're following the script just like everyone else. Letter in the extend-box.
To Whom It May Concern:
I think it is important to remember, as citizens, that Bush and his Administration were absolutely focused on a huge, expensive, technologically unproven, haphazard undertaking called "missile defense" on the days and months leading up to 9/11. Bush and his cronies believed we were under constant threat from someone launching a missile at our country.
By contrast:
"But let me underscore that missile defense will do nothing to address what the Pentagon itself considers a much more likely and immediate threat to the American homeland from terrorists and from nonstate actors, who can quietly slip explosives into a building, unleash chemical weapons into a crowded subway, or send a crude nuclear weapon into a busy harbor." (Kerry, Speech on Senate Floor, 5/2/01)
That is in May 2001. President Bush was focused on Iraq and fattening the bank accounts of huge corporate donors with giant Pentagon contracts. That is our tax money he's sending out as kickbacks. "Thanks for the campaign donation!"
In his own words Bush spent the Vietnam War playing "pool volleyball" with "ambitious secretaries". And these people have the nerve, the utter lack of humanity, to question Kerry's volunteer service? These are the people who want Bush in office. Look closely.
Although I am indebted to Mr. O'Neill for his service to our country, John Kerry has more honor in his little finger than Jerome Corsi, John O'Neill, and George Bush combined. He is fit to serve, and has my vote.
