Ok...everyone focuses on other districts for congressional races. But nobody ever focuses on this one. I'm a 21 yr. old college student from VA whose home happens to be in Fairfax County. For you bloggers who are from the D.C. area or Virginia, I'm sure you've heard of it. My home is extremely multicultural, my high school had a representation of 100 countries. So needless to say my district is heavily minority populated. I am aslo proud to say the district I live in voted heavily for Kerry by 819 of 1021 votes (I got the tally fresh off the presses on election day). But there is one glaring problem with our votes...TOM DAVIS!!
Tom Davis is a republican M.I.N.O.,
MODERATE in NAME only. He votes 74% of the time for Conservative things. He's sided with corporations over the rights of the public many times. He's specifically voted against the environment, against women's rights, against gay rights, agaisnt Moderate republican values. And yet people keep voting him in. Specifically democrats. My mom is a die-hard liberal, and yet she always votes Davis back in, just for the reason someone mentioned earlier. Because a lot of people, like to feel that they are bipartisan by voting in Republicans to lower positions. And candidates agaisnt Davis haven't been that great. This area is trending more democratic, so as the years go on its gonna be harder for Davis to win with only republican votes, I think we need to find a candidate to run against him, and use him as a 2006 poster child for stupid republicans who get voted in for no reason at all. Let's stop coddling to republicans just because they have moderate in front of their name. Look, I mean..I really like McCain, but I'd defeat him if given the choice, because if he wins he might still tow the party line because of pressure. But I don't know what to do to help defeat Davis. Anybody have ideas, how did Melissa Bean beat Crane, what's her strategy. Is it all about the candidate in House races??? Gimme ideas people, I am of the mindset that with a good idea given to me, I'll start a website to run on it.!!! Its extremely important that we get people to run against every republican in 2006 let's contest every INCH!!! I'm also thinking about finding someone in Richmond to run against Eric Cantor, he's a thuglican waiting to happen. And he had nobody run agaisnt him in 2004, things need to change in Virginia!!!
