When it will dawn on those who chose Bush that they have made a terrible error. They have made a choice that will affect their children and grandchildren. A choice, I believe that threatens the stability and well-being of the entire world.
Will the moment arrive when the 2000th soldier is killed in Iraq? Or will it be the 10,000th - and it's their son or daughter. Will it be when the next invasion occurs, or will it be the one after that? Perhaps when the draft is reinstated? Will people open their eyes when North Korea crosses the 38th parallel because our military is overstretched. Will it be when gas hits $3, $4, $5 per gallon. Maybe it won't be until far into the future when the state of Florida begins to submerge because of global warming. Or maybe it'll be the year when the south gets hit by 7, 8 or 9 hurricanes.
Perhaps one day when China and other nations decide it's no longer in their interest to finance our national debt, people will realize that something has gone horribly wrong. When we are a broken, bankrupt nation lacking respect or relevance in the world at large, with little control over our future, then, maybe then a small germ of an idea might spark some people to realize that we had a chance, back in 2004 to do something to create a better future. Or are the majority of people just incapable of that sort of thought? Just give them their "bread and circus" and they're happy.
