The Register, normally snarky about all things IT, has taken on the red states in one of its booknotes,
Reach out and sneer: Dem radicals speak to the Red States. While I would generally avoid saying what was said in this way, it is invigorating to see someone stand up for the goals of liberalism and attacking the failings of corporatism in America.
America is a great country, but it is still full of what Mencken called the Booboisie, people who vote against their own interests time and again because they don't really know what they are doing. If we are to get them to change, we can't do it the way The Register did, but we still have to get them to understand how they undermine their own best interests and America's by voting for unfettered corporatism.
