The Republicans don't plan to waste any time in the Senate, according to this release posted on the Take Tennessee Back email list:
NASHVILLE, NOVEMBER 5 - Leaders of the Davidson County Democratic Party today reacted to news that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is going to attempt to change Senate rules to quiet Democratic opposition. According to the Associated Press, Frist announced plans today to shut down efforts by Democratic lawmakers in the Senate to filibuster what are expected to be conservative Republican judicial nominees nominated by President Bush.
"The Republicans' plan to change Senate rules is the height of hypocrisy," said Davidson County Democratic Party Chairman Rodd Mullins. "These are the same rules they used to block President Clinton's political appointments. When it doesn't benefit them, they want to change rules the Senate has observed for over 100 years."
Frist, Tennessee Senator since 1994, is considered among the most conservative Senators in the U.S. Senate. He is widely reported to be considering a run for the Presidency in 2008.

"Republicans accuse Democrats of attempting to orchestrate judicial activism, and yet here they are committing the worst kind of judicial bias," said Mullins. "Senator Frist can fool the rest of the country, but we in Tennessee will remember his underhanded tactics the next time we see his name on a ballot."
The Senate Majority Leader needs to hear from constituents in Tennessee, and from concerned citizens everywhere.
