I'll nix this is if it's been diaried already. I didn't see it on the recent list but I just read the titles and skimmed the contents quickly. Probably has, it's been awhile ... Did anyone find it odd that while Chertoff was being blistered this morning he twice-- that I know of-- referred to picking up a
newspaper Tuesday morning and breathing a sigh of relief? Is this the latest excuse du jour? Link below.
Meet the Press
[Link] Chertoff: I remember on Tuesday morning picking up newspapers and I saw headlines, "New Orleans Dodged The Bullet," because if you recall the storm moved to the east and then continued on and appeared to pass with considerable damage but nothing worse. It was on Tuesday that the levee--may have been overnight Monday to Tuesday--that the levee started to break. And it was midday Tuesday that I became aware of the fact that there was no possibility of plugging the gap and that essentially the lake was going to start to drain into the city.
The guy with a multibillion dollar budget who has unrestricted access to everything from our computer files at the library to surveillance SATs from Langley was apparently counting on a newspaper to appraise the threat to hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens? That's either a big fat lie or we have been scammed for billions of dollars for "Homeland Security".
WHAT THE FUCK???!!!???? The head of Homeland Security who has the primary responsibility of taking charge after a disaster and administer relief read an anonymous NEWSPAPER Headline and he's claiming that's why he decided everything was A-OK!!???!!!
