Reading the stories about Joementum in the NY Times today, I was irate. Reading about the fact that this little self-involved, self-important worm is going to run as an Independent if Lamont gets the nod as the Democrat makes my head spin.

How, I ask myself, can someone who purports to love this country and the Democratic party possibly run as in Independent after losing the nod from the state's Democrats?? That answer is simple:
Joe Lieberman loves himself more than he loves his country.
It is fitting at this time that I bring up a diary I wrote a few months ago. It was titled something like: Lieberman to Hannity: "You're a real pal," and in it, Hannity offered to hold fundraisers for Lieberman.
Well, I have a question: have they set a date yet???
Obviously, Lieberman is more in line with the Bushes, and the Hannity's and the Coulter's of America than he is with the Democrats of today, seeing as he is all about Joe, and completely selfish and self-absorbed. So why doesn't he go back on Hannity's radio show and accept the offer for a fundraiser? Then, all of Connecticut's Democrats can see Joe for who he truly is - a toady of this warmongering president and the corporations that they both hold dear.
And I wish Lamont had said something about this. I wish he had said, in the Times article, "When Sean Hannity offers to hold a fundraiser for Joe Lieberman, it is obvious that Joe does not have what is best for Connecticut in mind."
Too bad for the missed opportunity, but I am sure Joe will give Lamont lots more chances to show how much he loves the Republicans. The NY Times article is good and to top it all off, it quotes Markos at the end.
